The Greedy Sister. Once upon a time, in a quiet village filled with hope and hardship, three sisters received an unexpected gift—one that would reveal their true hearts. This story is about choices, kindness, and what truly makes us rich. Will gold bring happiness… or will generosity shine brighter?

CHARACTERS:

  • JAIRO (Uncle)
  • CYNTHIA (Kind sister)
  • KARLA (Carefree sister)
  • GENESIS (The Greedy Sister)
  • FAIRY
  • NARRATOR

SCRIPT:

NARRATOR: Once upon a time, there lived a man named Jairo who had three nieces: Cynthia, Karla, and Genesis. He was very ill, and before he passed away, he called them to his side.

JAIRO: My dear nieces… my time is near. Before I go, I want each of you to have a bag of gold coins. Use them wisely… and with your hearts.

CYNTHIA: Oh, Uncle… please don’t say that. We will miss you so much.

KARLA: Don’t worry, Cynthia. Uncle wants us to be happy!

GENESIS: Yes… and now we’ll be rich, too.

NARRATOR: A few days later, Jairo passed away. Soon after, each sister chose her own path.

KARLA: (excited) At last! I can buy all the dresses I’ve dreamed of! Jewelry, shoes, everything! Oh, this will be wonderful!

NARRATOR: Karla spent her money quickly on beautiful things. Meanwhile, Genesis hid her gold away.

GENESIS: (whispering) I won’t waste my money like Karla. I’ll keep it safe… all for myself.

NARRATOR: But Cynthia chose a different path.

CYNTHIA: There are so many people in need. If I can help even a little, I must.

NARRATOR: And so she gave to the poor, the sick, and the hungry.

NARRATOR: Time passed, and soon Karla had nothing left.

KARLA: (weakly) Genesis… please, sister. I haven’t eaten in days. Can you help me?

GENESIS: (coldly) Help you? You wasted everything! Why don’t you eat your dresses and jewels?

KARLA: How can you be so cruel?

GENESIS: Your choices brought you here. Not me.

KARLA: (sadly) What will I do now?

GENESIS: Let’s go to Cynthia… maybe she’ll help you. I won’t.

NARRATOR:They went to Cynthia.

KARLA: (pleading) Dear sister… I’m hungry. Please help me.

CYNTHIA: (gently) Of course, Karla. You are my sister. I will always help you.

NARRATOR: Cynthia opened her bag.

CYNTHIA: Here, take these coins. Use them wisely.

KARLA: Thank you! Thank you so much!

NARRATOR: Genesis watched closely.

GENESIS: (thinking) She’s foolish… giving everything away. One day, she’ll have nothing—and then she’ll come begging to me.

NARRATOR: But something strange happened. No matter how much Cynthia gave, her gold never ran out. One day, Genesis grew suspicious.

GENESIS: This makes no sense… I must see for myself.

NARRATOR: The next day, she looked into Cynthia’s bag.

GENESIS: (shocked) Impossible! It’s still full! She must have stolen from me!

NARRATOR: She rushed to her own box.

GENESIS: (panicking) No! My gold! It’s gone… replaced with iron?!

NARRATOR: Suddenly, a Fairy appeared.

FAIRY: Why do you accuse the innocent?

GENESIS: Who are you?!

FAIRY: I am here to reveal the truth. Your heart has been ruled by greed.

GENESIS: I only protected what was mine!

FAIRY: And in doing so, you lost its true value.

GENESIS: But I didn’t waste it like Karla!

FAIRY: Nor did you use it like Cynthia. True wealth grows when shared with love.

GENESIS: (softening) Then… my money?

FAIRY: What you kept only for yourself has become worthless. And so it shall remain.

GENESIS: (crying) No… please!

NARRATOR: The Fairy disappeared, leaving Genesis alone with her iron coins—and a heavy heart.
