“The Gift from the Heart” — Long ago, in a grand kingdom, a kind but unsure prince was ready to find a bride. His father, the king, had an idea — a birthday celebration where the girl with the most special gift would win the prince’s heart. But what makes a gift truly special? Is it gold, jewels… or something more?

SCRIPT:
ACT I – The King’s Plan
(The King and the Prince are sitting at the royal breakfast table.)
KING: Son, you’ve come of age. When will you choose a bride?
PRINCE: When I find someone who’s kind, honest, and true… not just someone with a pretty smile.
KING: Your birthday is next Friday. Let’s celebrate at the palace. We’ll invite every young woman in the kingdom.
PRINCE: That sounds nice.
KING: But there’s a twist! The girl who brings you the most special gift — one that truly touches your heart — will become your bride and future queen.
PRINCE: Let’s hope the right one comes.
(They exit together.)
ACT II – The Royal Announcement
(The King sits on his throne. A servant stands at attention.)
KING: Go tell every family in the kingdom: next Friday is the prince’s birthday. Every young woman is invited. She must bring a gift — not the most expensive, but the most meaningful. And only if the prince is moved by it, will she become queen.
SERVANT: As you wish, Your Majesty. I will spread the word immediately.
(The servant bows and exits.)
ACT III – The Celebration
(The ballroom is filled with music, laughter, and elegantly dressed girls holding gifts. The Prince begins meeting them.)
PRINCE: What’s your name?
GIRL 1: (bows) Leonor, Your Highness. I bring you this golden watch — it never stops ticking, just like my admiration for you.
PRINCE: It’s a beautiful gift. Thank you. (He smiles and walks on.)
PRINCE: (to Girl 2) Are you enjoying the party?
GIRL 2: Very much, my prince! I brought you this bottle of rare Spanish wine. It’s said to be as sweet as love.
PRINCE: Thank you… Though I must admit, I don’t drink wine. But I’m grateful.
(He continues.)
PRINCE: (to Girl 3) And you?
GIRL 3: I offer you this golden chest full of diamonds and a fine Arabian horse.
PRINCE: Wow… that is impressive.
GIRL 3: So, do I win your heart?
PRINCE: I’m… not sure yet. Please, enjoy the celebration.
(He walks past her, then notices a simple wooden box on a table.)
PRINCE: What’s this? A plain little box? (He opens it.) It’s… empty? Is this some kind of joke?
(He calls for his servant.)
PRINCE: Find the girl who brought this empty box. I want to speak with her — now!
SERVANT: Right away, Your Highness!
(The servant exits, then returns with a humble girl. She looks nervous.)
PRINCE: Why would you bring me an empty box?
(He turns away, disappointed. The girl speaks softly.)
GIRL 4: I had filled the box with gifts from my home… but on my way here, I met people who had nothing. One by one, I gave everything away — the blanket to a shivering child, the food to a hungry mother, the coins to an old man. When I arrived… the box was empty.
(The prince slowly turns to face her.)
PRINCE: You gave away your gift… to help others?
GIRL 4: Yes, Your Highness. I thought… they needed it more than you.
(The prince kneels before her.)
PRINCE: You brought me the greatest gift of all — a heart full of kindness. I don’t care how you look or what you own. Will you be my queen?
GIRL 4: (kneels with tears in her eyes) Yes, my prince. I will.
(They smile at each other and hold hands as the music swells.)
NARRATOR: That day, the prince didn’t choose wealth, beauty, or fancy words — he chose goodness. The girl with the empty box became queen, and her heart full of love became a treasure to the kingdom.
