The classic Cinderella story, known for its themes of kindness, perseverance, and magical transformation, was popularized by Charles Perrault in his 1697 collection “Histoires ou contes du temps passé.” Perrault’s version, titled “Cendrillon,” introduced the iconic elements of the glass slipper, the pumpkin coach, and the fairy godmother, cementing Cinderella’s place as a beloved character in fairy tale lore.

CINDERELLA’S UNEXPECTED TWIST

SCRIPT:

NARRATOR: (enthusiastically) Once upon a time, in a faraway kingdom, there lived a kind and beautiful girl named Cinderella. She was forced to do all the household chores by her wicked stepmother and two selfish stepsisters, Greta and Helga. But little did they know, this Cinderella was not your ordinary fairy tale heroine!

(Scene: Cinderella is scrubbing the floor. Greta and Helga are lounging around.)

GRETA: (yawning) Cinderella, fetch me my book!

HELGA: (annoyed) And get me some tea, will you?

CINDERELLA: (mutters) Fetch this, get that. Is there anything you two can do for yourselves?

STEPMOTHER: (entering) Cinderella! Don’t you dare talk back! Get to work!

CINDERELLA: (to herself) One day, my life will change… just you wait.

NARRATOR: That evening, an invitation arrived from the palace. A grand ball was to be held, and every eligible maiden was invited. Cinderella’s heart filled with hope.

STEPSISTERS AND STEPMOTHER: (squealing) We’re going to the ball!

GRETA: (mocking) But not you, Cinderella!

HELGA: (laughing) As if the prince would ever look at you!

NARRATOR: Cinderella’s stepsisters and stepmother left her behind, thinking they had won. But as soon as they were gone, Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother appeared!

FAIRY GODMOTHER: (with a sparkle) Cinderella, my dear, don’t you cry. You’re going to that ball, but with a twist!

CINDERELLA: (confused) A twist?

FAIRY GODMOTHER: (waving her wand) Yes, dear. This time, you’ll go as a… ninja!

CINDERELLA: (excited) A ninja? That’s awesome!

NARRATOR: With a flick of her wand, Cinderella was transformed into a sleek, stealthy ninja. She had a black outfit, a mask, and even some cool ninja gadgets.

CINDERELLA: (striking a pose) This is amazing! But how will I get to the ball?

FAIRY GODMOTHER: (smiling) Don’t worry, dear. I’ve got you covered. (waves wand) Behold, your ninja motorcycle!

CINDERELLA: (ecstatic) Wow! Thank you, Fairy Godmother!

FAIRY GODMOTHER: Remember, you must return before midnight, or everything will go back to normal.

NARRATOR: Cinderella zoomed off to the palace, where the ball was in full swing. But instead of blending in with the crowd, she decided to have some fun.

(Scene: At the palace, the guests are dancing. Prince Charming looks bored.)

PRINCE CHARMING: (sighs) Another ball, another night of boredom.

NARRATOR: Suddenly, a ninja on a motorcycle burst into the ballroom, flipping and twirling with amazing agility. Everyone gasped, including the prince.

CINDERELLA: (doing ninja moves) Hi-yah! (winks at the prince)

PRINCE CHARMING: (intrigued) Who is that? I must know her!

NARRATOR: Cinderella’s ninja skills captivated everyone. The prince couldn’t take his eyes off her. They danced, but with ninja flips and spins, making it the most exciting ball ever.

CINDERELLA: (whispering) Sorry, Prince, but I must go now. (dashes away)

NARRATOR: The clock struck midnight. Cinderella raced back to her motorcycle and sped off, but she left behind a single ninja star.

PRINCE CHARMING: (picking up the star) I will find you, my ninja princess!

NARRATOR: The next day, the prince went door to door, searching for the girl who fit the ninja star.

PRINCE CHARMING: (at Cinderella’s house) Do you recognize this ninja star?

GRETA: (greedily) Let me try!

HELGA: (pushing her aside) No, me first!

NARRATOR: Despite their efforts, neither Greta nor Helga could wield the star. Finally, Cinderella stepped forward.

CINDERELLA: (calmly) May I try?

PRINCE CHARMING: (hopeful) Please do.

NARRATOR: Cinderella took the ninja star and expertly threw it, hitting a target on the wall.

PRINCE CHARMING: (amazed) It’s you! Will you be my ninja princess?

CINDERELLA: (smiling) Yes, but let’s make this kingdom a place where everyone can be themselves, no matter how different they are.

NARRATOR: And so, Cinderella and the Prince brought about a new era of inclusivity and fun in the kingdom. And they all lived happily, and adventurously, ever after.
