SCRIPT:
NARRATOR: Once upon a time, there was a duck family living in an old farm. There were many animales, like horses, pigs, cows, goats, dogs, hens, and cats. One day, mother duck layed some eggs. A few days later, the eggs hatched and out popped five cute little ducks.
DUCK 1: Peep, peep
DUCK 2: Peep, peep
DUCK 3: Peep, peep
DUCK 4: Peep, peep
MOTHER DUCK: Quack, Quack!. It was about time!. I’ll count my little babies… 1, 2, 3, 4 … 5? How strange this is. That egg didn’t break open, and it’s the biggest egg of all!. I don’t remember having layed five eggs. I wonder how it got here?. Or did I count them wrongly?.
NARRATOR: Suddenly, the egg broke, and a big duck came out. It was not yellow, it was gray, with a large beak. It was different from the other ducks.
UGLY DUCK: Peep, peep. Hi mommy!.
MOTHER DUCK: Oh my God, what an enormous duck…an it’s so ugly!. You can’t be mine!.
DUCK 1, 2, 3, 4: Ha, ha, ha, ha.
DUCK 1: Peep!. Peep!. Stay away from us!.
DUCK 2: Peep!. Peep!. We don’t want to play with you!.
DUCK 3: Peep!. Peep!. Don’t talk to any of my brothers, do you understand?.
DUCK 4: Peep!. Peep!. You’re not like any of us!. I hope the cat eats you!.
NARRATOR: All the animals in the farm were making fun of him.
HORSE: Neigh!. Neigh!. I feel sorry for your mother. How unfortunate to have a duck as ugly as you!.
PIG: Oink!. Oink!. You look like a scarecrow!.
UGLY DUCK: Please, stop teasing me!.
COW: Moo!. Moo!. You’re not invited to my birthday party!.
GOAT: Bleat!. Bleat!. You don’t belong here! You’re so clumsy!.
CAT: Meow!. Meow!. What a shame!.
DOG: Woof!. Woof!. You’re so disgusting, that I can’t stand you!.
HEN: Cluck!. Cluck!. You’re a wannabe!.
UGLY DUCK: I feel so sad for all the things you’re telling me.
MOTHER DUCK: Poor baby!. Why aren’t you as beautiful as your brothers?.
UGLY DUCK: Mommy, you make me feel worse than ever. Nobody loves me!. I feel so lonely!.
MOTHER DUCK: Why don’t you go for a walk?.
DUCK 1: Yeah! Get lost!. Ha, ha, ha, ha.
MOTHER DUCK: Go to the lake, and you can stay there if you want to!.
UGLY DUCK: I’ll go away, and I’ll never come back.
NARRATOR: The Ugly Duck left the farm, and he walk, and walk, until he found some birds along the road.
UGLY DUCK: Do you know of any duck with gray feathers like mine?.
BIRD 1: I don’t.
BIRD 2: Me neither!.
BIRD 3: I don’t know anyone as ugly as you!.
NARRATOR: The Ugly Duck didn’t lose hope, and kept walking to the lake, where he saw a pair of large geese.
UGLY DUCK: Do you know of any duck with gray feathers like mine?.
GOOSE 1: No!. We don’t know anyone as ugly as you. You better leave!.
GOOSE 2: This place is dangerous. There are some hunters over there, and they might harm you!.
UGLY DUCK: I shouldn’t have left the farm!.
NARRATOR: He continued walking until he reached the other side of the lake.
UGLY DUCK: I’m so hungry and tired!. I’ll take a nap.
NARRATOR: The Ugly Duck went to sleep, until someone woke him up.
SWAN 1: What are you doing here?. Come and swim with us, brother!.
UGLY DUCK: Do you really want me to go with you?. Haven’t you seen me?.
SWAN 2: I don’t see what’s wrong with you.
UGLY DUCK: Nobody likes me because I’m ugly!.
SWAN 3: Get in the water and you’ll see.
NARRATOR: The Ugly Duck went into the water and saw his own image.
UGLY DUCK: Oh, I’m no longer a dark, gray, clumsy, and ugly duck. How I’ve changed! I hardly recognize myself!.
SWAN 1, 2, 3: You’re a swan, just like us!.
NARRATOR: Some little children playing in the lake, saw him and said.
CHILD 1: There’s a new swan in the lake!.
CHILD 2: He’s young and graceful!.
CHILD 3: He’s the most beautiful of all!.
UGLY DUCK: I never dreamed of such happiness!. My family hated me, and my friends humiliated me, and now I’m the most beautiful white swan. I am no more an ugly duck!.
