NARRATOR: Once upon a time, in a lush green forest, there lived a donkey with a heart as big as his ears. One sunny day, as he trotted along the forest path, fate had a prickly surprise in store for him.

DONKEY: (Hopping around) Oh, what a nuisance! It feels like there’s a bed of roses under my hoof, but I can’t see any! Ouch!

NARRATOR: The donkey winced in pain, but being a tough one, he tried to be brave.

DONKEY: (Trying to be brave) I won’t cry…I won’t…Okay, maybe just a little whimper…

NARRATOR: But before he knew it, tears were streaming down his furry cheeks.

DONKEY: (Crying) Boo-hoo! Why do thorns have to exist in this world?

NARRATOR: Just then, lurking in the shadows, a cunning wolf observed the distressed donkey with keen interest.

WOLF: Ah, what do we have here? A tasty-looking donkey in distress? How delightful!

NARRATOR: The donkey, spotting the wolf, felt a shiver run down his spine.

DONKEY: (Trembling) Oh no, not a wolf! What will I do? I can’t outrun him with this thorn in my hoof!

NARRATOR: Gathering his courage, the donkey decided to take a leap of faith and address the wolf.

DONKEY: (Nervously) Um, Mr. Wolf, sir… Could you please help me?

WOLF: (Amused) Help you? Why, pray tell, should I help you, dear donkey?

DONKEY: (Desperately) Because you see, I’m in pain, and you have such big, strong teeth… Maybe you could, uh, help me get rid of this thorn?

WOLF: (Feigning innocence) Me? Help you? What’s in it for me?

DONKEY: (Quickly) Oh, well, once you help me, you can, um, have a nice meal… Me!

WOLF: (Pretending to consider) Hmm, tempting offer. But why would I eat you if you’re already injured?

DONKEY: (Thinking quickly) Because… because I’m not long for this world! Yes, that’s it. So, if you’re going to eat me, you might as well make me comfortable first, right?

WOLF: (Grinning) Crafty, aren’t you? Very well, I’ll lend you a paw…er, I mean, a tooth.

NARRATOR: With a mischievous glint in his eye, the wolf carefully approached the donkey’s hoof.

DONKEY: (Scheming) As soon as he’s close enough, I’ll give him a surprise he won’t forget!

WOLF: (Gently) Hold still now. This might pinch a little.

NARRATOR: The donkey braced himself, ready to execute his plan.

DONKEY: (Thinking) Any moment now…

WOLF: (Surprised) There! The thorn is out!

NARRATOR: Before the wolf could react, the donkey delivered a swift kick with his hind legs.

DONKEY: (Triumphantly) Take that, Mr. Wolf!

NARRATOR: The wolf yelped in pain as the donkey’s hooves made contact with his snout, breaking his teeth.

WOLF: (Whimpering) My teeth… My beautiful teeth!

NARRATOR: And with that, the donkey dashed away, leaving the wolf to rue the day he underestimated the bravery and cunning of a humble donkey.

Morals of the story:

1. Wit can overcome strength: The donkey, though physically weaker, uses his intelligence and quick thinking to outsmart the wolf. This reminds us that brains can often triumph over brute force in difficult situations.

2. Don’t give up hope: Even when faced with adversity, the donkey doesn’t despair. He actively seeks help and finds a way to turn the tables. This teaches us the importance of perseverance and keeping a positive attitude in the face of challenges.

3. Appearances can be deceiving: The wolf initially appears cunning and powerful, but underestimates the donkey’s resourcefulness. This reminds us not to base our judgments solely on outward appearances.

4. Sometimes, unexpected allies can arise: The donkey, initially afraid of the wolf, finds an unlikely ally in his own misfortune. This highlights the importance of adaptability and recognizing potential help even in unexpected places.

5. A little humor can go a long way: The donkey’s clever trick also has a humorous element, adding lightness to the story. This reminds us that sometimes, a touch of humor can help us navigate difficult situations.
