NARRATOR: Cinderella lives in a house with her Stepmother and her two Stepsisters. They are very mean to her and make her do all the housework.
STEPMOTHER: Cinderella, wash the dishes! Cinderella, clean the floor! Cinderella, work, work, work!
NARRATOR: The Stepmother is cruel and lazy. The Stepsisters never help. One is fat with a big nose. The other is thin with large ears.
STEPSISTER 1: Cinderella, come here!
STEPSISTER 2: Cinderella, sweep the floor!
STEPSISTER 1: Cinderella, clean my shoes!
STEPSISTER 2: Cinderella, comb my hair!
NARRATOR: Cinderella is kind, beautiful, and hardworking. One day, the family receives an invitation from the palace.
STEPSISTER 1: Mother, read it!
STEPSISTER 2: What does it say?
STEPMOTHER: It says that every young woman is invited to a royal ball!
CINDERELLA: Oh, I would love to go! I love to dance!
STEPSISTERS (laughing): You? Go to the ball? Don’t be silly!
CINDERELLA: Yes, I want to go.
NARRATOR: Cinderella works hard making dresses for her Stepmother and Stepsisters. But she doesn’t have time to make one for herself.
STEPSISTERS: We’re going to the ball! We’re going to the ball!
STEPMOTHER: If you don’t have a dress, you can’t go.
NARRATOR: Cinderella sits down and begins to cry.
CINDERELLA: I don’t have a nice dress. Mine is old and ugly.
STEPSISTERS: Too bad! Goodbye, Cinderella!
NARRATOR: Suddenly, a magical woman appears.
CINDERELLA: Who are you?
FAIRY GODMOTHER: I’m your Fairy Godmother, and I’m here to help you.
NARRATOR: With a wave of her wand, Cinderella’s dress becomes beautiful. On her feet are sparkling glass slippers.
CINDERELLA: It’s amazing! Thank you!
FAIRY GODMOTHER: But remember — you must return home before midnight!
CINDERELLA: I won’t forget!
NARRATOR: At the ball, everyone stares at Cinderella.
GIRL 1: Who is that beautiful girl?
GIRL 2: She looks like a princess!
NARRATOR: The Prince sees her and walks over.
PRINCE: Would you like to dance?
CINDERELLA: Yes, I would love to.
NARRATOR: They dance all evening. But then…
CLOCK: DONG! DONG! DONG! (up to twelve)
CINDERELLA: Oh no! I must go!
NARRATOR: Cinderella runs away. One of her glass slippers falls off on the palace steps.
PRINCE: Wait! What’s your name? Where do you live?
NARRATOR: He picks up the slipper and sighs.
PRINCE: I must find her… but I don’t even know her name.
NARRATOR: The next day, the Prince visits every house in town.
PRINCE: Is the girl who wore this slipper here?
WOMAN 1: No, she’s not here.
NARRATOR: Finally, he arrives at Cinderella’s house.
PRINCE: Is the girl from the ball here?
STEPMOTHER:Yes, she is! Try it on, daughter!
STEPSISTER 1: Ow! It’s too small! My foot is too big!
NARRATOR: Just then, Cinderella walks in.
CINDERELLA: That slipper belongs to me!
STEPSISTERS: Ha! You wish!
CINDERELLA: I have the other slipper.
NARRATOR: She puts it on, and once again, looks as beautiful as the night of the ball.
PRINCE: I found you! Will you marry me?
CINDERELLA: Yes! I will!
NARRATOR: Cinderella’s kindness and patience were stronger than cruelty. She never gave up hope — and in the end, her dreams came true. And so, Cinderella and the Prince lived happily ever after.
MORAL: 🌟 A kind heart, even in hard times, can lead to magical things. 🌟
