NARRATOR: Long ago, in a quiet village, there lived a poor widow and her son, Jack. One morning, Jack’s mother spoke to him with worry in her voice.
MOTHER: We don’t even have enough money to buy a loaf of bread. We must sell our cow, Jack—it’s the only way to survive.
JACK: All right, Mother. I’ll take the cow to the market and do my best to sell her.
NARRATOR: On the way to town, Jack came across a man walking down the road.
MAN: Hello there, boy. Are you taking your cow to town to sell?
JACK: Yes, sir. Are you interested in buying her?
MAN: Not exactly. I’d rather trade your cow for these magic beans. They’re worth far more than money!
JACK: Magic beans? That sounds amazing! Okay, let’s trade.
NARRATOR: Jack eagerly agreed and made the trade. Feeling proud and full of excitement, he ran all the way home.
JACK: Mother, look what I got for our cow — magic beans!
NARRATOR: Jack’s mother became angry with Jack.
MOTHER: Oh, Jack! How could you be so foolish? There’s no such thing as magic beans! Now we have nothing!
NARRATOR: Jack’s mother was so upset that she snatched the beans from his hand and tossed them out the window into the garden. That night, there was no dinner—only disappointment. After finishing their chores, Jack and his mother went to bed hungry. But when morning came, they could hardly believe their eyes! Jack stared in amazement at the enormous beanstalk that had appeared overnight. Its green leaves sparkled in the sunlight, and it seemed to touch the very sky.
JACK: (excited) Mother! Look! Look at this giant beanstalk! The beans weren’t ordinary after all—they’re magic!
MOTHER: (astonished) Magic? Oh, Jack… I can hardly believe it. It’s as tall as the clouds!
JACK: I want to see where it leads! Maybe there’s treasure at the top!
MOTHER: (worried) Oh no, Jack! It’s too dangerous. You stay right here.
JACK: Don’t worry, Mother. I’ll be careful. I’ll climb up and come right back.
NARRATOR: And before his mother could stop him, Jack grabbed the thick green vines and began to climb—higher and higher—until he disappeared into the clouds. After climbing for what felt like forever, Jack finally reached the top of the beanstalk. To his amazement, he found himself in a strange land high above the clouds. The air shimmered with golden light, and in the distance, he saw an enormous castle.
JACK: Wow! I’ve never seen anything like this! That castle looks bigger than ten houses put together. Maybe the person who lives there will give me something to eat.
NARRATOR: Jack followed a long, winding path until he reached the front door of the castle. The door was so tall that even a giant could fit through it. Jack knocked three times—knock, knock, knock!
WOMAN: (opening the door, surprised) Oh my goodness! A human boy? What are you doing here?
JACK: Please, ma’am, I’m very hungry and tired. May I have something to eat?
WOMAN: (nervously looking around) You must leave quickly! My husband is a giant, and if he finds you, he’ll eat you for breakfast!
JACK: Please, can I have just a little bread and water? I promise I’ll go right after.
NARRATOR: The kind woman sighed and looked into Jack’s hopeful eyes.
WOMAN: All right, come in—but you must hide if my husband comes home!
NARRATOR: Jack hurried inside, unaware that his adventure in the clouds was only beginning.
NARRATOR: Jack had just taken his first bite of bread when suddenly, the ground began to shake. Thump! Thump! Thump! The dishes rattled, and the walls trembled.
WOMAN: (terrified) Oh no! He’s home! Quick, boy—hide in the oven before he sees you!
NARRATOR: Jack jumped into the oven just as the door burst open. The giant stepped inside, towering over everything.
GIANT: (sniffing the air) Fee-fi-fo-fum! I smell the blood of an Englishman! Be he alive or be he dead, I’ll grind his bones to make my bread!
WOMAN: (pretending to laugh) You’re only smelling the stew from last night, dear. There’s no one here but me. Sit down, and I’ll bring you your supper.
NARRATOR: The giant sat at the huge table and began to eat. When he finished, he wiped his mouth with a napkin the size of a bedsheet.
GIANT: Bring me my magic hen!
NARRATOR: The woman brought a small hen that clucked softly in her hands.
GIANT: (commanding) Lay!
NARRATOR: The hen laid a shiny golden egg right on the table.
GIANT: (smiling proudly) Good girl! You may rest now.
NARRATOR: A moment later, the giant yawned loudly, stretched his arms, and soon began to snore like thunder. Jack peeked out from the oven.
JACK: (whispering) A magic hen that lays golden eggs! Mother would never be hungry again!
NARRATOR: Quietly, Jack crept out, took the hen, and tiptoed toward the door. But just as he reached it, the hen cackled loudly—
HEN: Cluck-cluck-cluck!
GIANT: (waking up) Come back here, you thief!
NARRATOR: Jack ran as fast as he could, the giant’s footsteps shaking the ground behind him. Jack raced down the beanstalk, clutching the squawking hen in his arms. Above him, the giant’s booming voice echoed through the clouds.
GIANT: (shouting) Stop, boy! You can’t escape me!
NARRATOR: The beanstalk swayed wildly as Jack climbed down faster and faster. The wind whistled, and the clouds spun all around him.
JACK: (calling out) Mother! Quick—bring me an ax!
NARRATOR: Jack’s mother ran from the cottage, terrified at the sight of her son climbing down from the sky. She grabbed the ax and handed it to him.
MOTHER: Hurry, Jack! The giant is almost here!
NARRATOR: Jack swung the ax with all his strength—once, twice, three times.
SFX: CRACK! SNAP! CRASH!
NARRATOR: The great beanstalk shuddered, broke in two, and came crashing to the ground. The giant tumbled down with a mighty roar and vanished forever.
JACK: It’s over, Mother! We’re safe now!
MOTHER: Oh, Jack! You’re safe—and what’s that in your arms?
JACK: A magic hen, Mother! She lays golden eggs!
NARRATOR: Jack and his mother never went hungry again. Their little cottage became warm and bright, filled with laughter, love, and golden eggs. But even more precious than the treasure was what Jack learned that day—
JACK: (smiling) That courage, kindness, and a little curiosity can lead to wonderful things—if you’re brave enough to climb!
NARRATOR: And from that day on, every time Jack looked up at the sky, he remembered the magic adventure that began with a handful of beans.
In the end, Jack and the Beanstalk: The Magic Climb reminds us that courage, curiosity, and faith can lead to extraordinary discoveries. Jack’s brave heart and quick thinking helped him overcome danger and bring hope back to his home. From a handful of magic beans, he grew not only a beanstalk but also a spirit of determination that lifted him above his fears. Just like Jack, we learn that even the smallest act of bravery can lead to magical rewards and new beginnings.
