SCRIPT:
NARRATOR: Once upon a time, deep in the sunny woods, there lived a curious little girl named Goldilocks.
GOLDILOCKS: I’ll go for a big adventure today! I want to find the prettiest, fluffiest flowers! (She skips off)
NARRATOR: Meanwhile, a family of bears—Papa Bear, Momma Bear, and Baby Bear—were making breakfast.
PAPA BEAR: Roar! This porridge is too hot to eat! Let’s take a walk while it cools down.
MOMMA BEAR: Good idea, dear. Fresh air is lovely!
BABY BEAR: Yay! Let’s go see the butterflies! (They exit)
NARRATOR: Back in the forest, Goldilocks was chasing butterflies when she saw a cozy little house.
GOLDILOCKS: Oh, I am so very thirsty! And my tummy is rumbling! I wonder who lives there. Maybe they have a nice, cold drink!
NARRATOR: She tiptoed to the door.
GOLDILOCKS: (Knocks softly, then pushes the door open a little) Hello? Is anybody home? The door is wide open! Well, a quick peek won’t hurt.
NARRATOR: And she walked right in. On the kitchen table were three bowls of delicious-smelling porridge.
GOLDILOCKS: Porridge! Oh, my favourite! I must have a taste.
NARRATOR: She picked up the spoon for the first bowl, the great big one.
GOLDILOCKS: Goodness! This is blazingly hot! It burned my tongue a little. (She sticks out her tongue)
NARRATOR: Next, Goldilocks tried the porridge in the second bowl, the middle-sized one.
GOLDILOCKS: Eww! This is ice-cold! Like eating snow!
NARRATOR: Finally, she tried the porridge in the third, smallest bowl.
GOLDILOCKS: (Happily, with a satisfied sigh) Ahhh, this is perfect! Not too hot, not too cold. Just right! (She quickly eats it all up)
NARRATOR: After her big snack, Goldilocks felt sleepy. She wobbled into the living room.
GOLDILOCKS: My legs are tired! I need a good rest before I go home.
NARRATOR: She tried the first chair, Papa Bear’s huge chair.
GOLDILOCKS: My goodness! This chair is too hard! It feels like sitting on a rock!
NARRATOR: She tried the second chair, Momma Bear’s middle-sized chair.
GOLDILOCKS: Oh no! This chair is too squishy! I keep sinking in!
NARRATOR: So she tried the third, smallest chair, Baby Bear’s cute little chair.
GOLDILOCKS: (Snuggling in) Ohhh, this is just so comfy! Just right!
NARRATOR: But Goldilocks was a little heavy for the tiny chair. With a sudden CRACK! It broke into pieces!
GOLDILOCKS: Oops! (She scrambles up) I’d better find a safer place to rest.
NARRATOR: She was very, very tired, so she went upstairs to the bedroom. She flopped onto the first bed.
GOLDILOCKS: Yikes! This bed is too lumpy! I can feel every spring!
NARRATOR: She bounced onto the second bed.
GOLDILOCKS: Whee! This bed is too soft! I feel like I’m drowning in clouds!
NARRATOR: She then climbed into the third, smallest bed.
GOLDILOCKS: (In a sleepy voice) Mmmm. This bed is the best! Just right!
NARRATOR: And Goldilocks fell fast asleep. Soon, the Three Bears came home! They walked into the kitchen and saw the spoons in their bowls.
PAPA BEAR: (In a loud, rumbling voice) Someone’s been tasting my porridge!
MOMMA BEAR: (In a kind but worried voice) Oh dear, someone’s been tasting my porridge, too!
BABY BEAR: (In a high-pitched, sad voice) Someone’s been eating my porridge, and it’s all gone! Every single drop! (He almost cries)
NARRATOR: The bears went into the living room, and Papa Bear looked at his chair.
PAPA BEAR: (Loudly) Someone’s been sitting in my big chair!
MOMMA BEAR: (Calmly) Someone’s been sitting in my chair, as well!
BABY BEAR: (Crying a little) Someone’s been sitting in my chair, and they smashed it to pieces! (Points to the broken chair)
NARRATOR: The bears were puzzled and followed the mystery upstairs to the bedroom.
PAPA BEAR: (Rumbling) Someone’s been touching my bed!
MOMMA BEAR: (Quietly) Someone’s been messing up my bed, too!
BABY BEAR: (Suddenly shouting, excitedly) Look! Someone’s sleeping in my bed, and she’s still there!
NARRATOR: Goldilocks woke up with a start! She saw the three big, surprised bears looking down at her.
GOLDILOCKS: (Screaming) Help! bears!
NARRATOR: She jumped out of the bed, flew down the stairs, and burst out the door! She ran and ran and ran as fast as her legs could carry her, all the way back into the deep forest.
PAPA BEAR: (Shaking his head) Well, that was a strange visit!
MOMMA BEAR: I hope she learned a lesson about walking into other people’s homes!
BABY BEAR: We need a new little chair!
NARRATOR: Goldilocks never, ever went back to the home of the Three Bears again.
PAPA BEAR, MOMMA BEAR, BABY BEAR: (Waving goodbye with a chuckle) Bye-bye! Have a good run!
