SCRIPT:

NARRATOR: Once upon a time, in a small cottage at the edge of a sleepy little town, lived a poor woman and her daughter, Allison. They had very little—no money, no animals, and no food to eat.

MOTHER: (sighs sadly) Oh, Allison… my dear. The cupboard is empty again. We have nothing left.

ALLISON: Don’t worry, Mother. I’ll go into the forest. Maybe I can find some berries or nuts. I’ll bring us something to eat.

NARRATOR: So Allison walked deep into the forest. She searched under bushes, behind trees, and even looked inside hollow logs—but there was nothing. Tired and hungry, she sat down on a rock and began to cry.

ALLISON: (crying softly) What am I going to do? I’m so hungry… and Mother must be, too!

NARRATOR: Suddenly, a gentle voice came from behind her.

OLD WOMAN: Why are you crying, pretty girl?

ALLISON: (startled) Oh! Who are you?

OLD WOMAN: Just an old woman who doesn’t like to see tears. Tell me your trouble.

ALLISON: My mother and I have no food. We’re starving, and I don’t know what to do.

OLD WOMAN: (smiling kindly) Then take this, dear child. (She hands Allison a small shiny pot.) It’s a magic cooking pot.

ALLISON: A magic pot? What does it do?

OLD WOMAN: If you place it on the stove and say these words:

“Magic pot, cook, cook, cook!” — it will fill with hot, delicious soup.

But remember! When you’ve had enough, you must say:

“Magic pot, stop, stop, stop!” Then the pot will stop cooking.

ALLISON: That’s amazing! Thank you so much, kind lady!

OLD WOMAN: Don’t forget the magic words—or you’ll be swimming in soup! (laughs softly as she disappears into the forest)

NARRATOR: Allison ran home as fast as she could, carrying the pot carefully in her arms.

MOTHER: Allison! You’re back! What did you find?

ALLISON: (smiling) Something better than berries! Watch this, Mother. Magic pot, cook, cook, cook!

NARRATOR: At once, the pot began to bubble and steam. Rich, warm soup filled the kitchen with a delicious smell.

MOTHER: Oh, my goodness! Look at it! It’s real soup! We’ll never be hungry again!

ALLISON: Now we must stop it. Magic pot, stop, stop, stop!

NARRATOR: And the pot stopped, just like that. They ate until they were full and happy for the first time in weeks. The next morning, Allison went to visit her friend Dominike. While she was gone, her mother grew hungry again.

MOTHER: Well, it can’t be that hard. What were those words again? Hmm… Oh yes! Magic pot, cook, cook, cook!

NARRATOR: And the pot began to bubble and boil. Soup poured out—filling the pot, the stove, and the floor!

MOTHER: Alright, that’s enough. Stop now, little pot. Please stop!

Oh dear… those weren’t the right words!

NARRATOR: But the pot didn’t stop. It kept cooking—and cooking—and cooking! Soup poured out the door and down the street!

ALAN: (running past) What’s happening?! It’s a soup flood! Somebody call a spoon!

MOTHER: Help! Somebody help me! I can’t make it stop!

NARRATOR: The soup flowed all the way to Dominike’s house.

DOMINIKE: Allison! Look! Your mother’s running this way, and there’s soup everywhere!

ALLISON: Oh no! I think she forgot the words! Come on!

NARRATOR: They splashed through the puddles of soup until they reached the house. The pot was still boiling and bubbling like crazy!

MOTHER: Make it stop, Allison! I tried everything! I even said “pretty please!”

DOMINIKE: This pot’s out of control!

ALLISON: Wait! I remember! Magic pot, stop, stop, stop!

NARRATOR: At once, the pot went quiet. The bubbling stopped, and the soup finally settled. Everyone sighed in relief.

MOTHER: Thank goodness! From now on, I’ll leave the magic words to you, Allison.

ALLISON: (laughing) Good idea, Mother. Next time, we’ll cook—but not too much!

NARRATOR: And from that day on, Allison and her mother always had enough to eat— but never, ever too much soup again!

The Magic Pot reminds us that sometimes, even simple gifts can change our lives if we treat them with respect and gratitude. Allison’s kindness and honesty brought her good fortune. At the same time, her mother’s impatience taught a funny but valuable lesson: magic works best when we use it wisely and remember the right words!
